BOB CRINK PHOTOGRAPHY

About Me

From an early age, I was always interested in art, including watercolors, pencil sketching, photography, and later landscape and lobster boat design. I became more interested in photography after graduating from college, purchasing my mail order SLR camera and 2 lenses just before leaving on a ski club trip to Europe. As a design engineer for Chevrolet Engineering, I continued sketching of sports cars and started doing more photos of sports car races. After marrying and having four children my photography subjects changed to my and neighboring children and vacations to New England. Having no formal photography education, but being an avid reader, I collected many books by the great photographers of the day, including Margaret Bourke White, Ansel Adams, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and the complete set of the Time-Life books on photography. I also a member of the Motor City Camera Club, where I successfully competed, placing three times in the Kodak National Photography Contest and winning Slide of the Year twice. After retiring and moving to Edgecomb, my interest in photography was renewed.  I enjoy photographing community events, have developed a passion for portraiture, and am still collecting photography books.
