Third Place, Maine Photography Show 2014: "Hope"

I took this photo in 1971 of an apartment building in Pontiac Michigan that I had noticed when driving by.  I went back on a Saturday morning and took one picture of it.  I did not notice the flowers until I had the photos developed into slides.  Forty-three years later I entered this photo into the "Flowers" category of the Maine Photography Show and won this award.
Honorable Mention, Maine Photography Show 2013: "Stormy Tree"

When I heard "Trees" was the category for the Maine Photography Show I wanted to do something unique with the subject matter to make it stand out.  I created a photograph of a 2 inch tall by 4 inch wide tree sculpture mounted on a rock by putting it on a ladder at the end of my driveway and photographing it against a stormy sky.  The tree sculpture is still in my bathroom.  I've had it for decades but never photographed it before.
